Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how DP Digital LLC (“DP Digital,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use SAM (Smart Assistant Manager) and the website at samfantasy.com (collectively, the “Service”).

1. Information we collect

Sign-up

When you sign up, we collect your mobile number, which is used to sign you in with a texted code, the time you signed up, your time zone from your browser, and whether you checked the texts box. If you check the box, we also record the time you consented, the consent text version you agreed to, and the address your browser connected from. Beta members who sign in by email: we hold the email address. If you joined the launch waitlist before sign-up opened, we hold the email address and time you joined until twelve months after launch, or until you ask us to delete it. We also keep with your account the tag on the link you came in on, or the site that sent you, to learn which posts bring people to SAM; until you sign up it is held only in your browser tab, never in a cookie, and we never share it.

SMS opt-in

If you opt in to SAM texts in Account, we collect your mobile number, the time you consented, and a record of the consent text version you agreed to. Texting is optional. Texts begin only after you opt in. You opt in and manage your number in Account, where you can remove it at any time.

Payments

If you buy a plan, Stripe processes the payment. We receive a Stripe customer id, your plan, its status and billing dates. We never see or store your card number. Stripe's privacy policy governs how Stripe handles your card.

Bot check

Our sign-up and sign-in forms use Cloudflare Turnstile to tell people from bots. Cloudflare sees your browser's connection for that check and may set a cookie for it.

SAM Fantasy: ESPN Link (browser extension)

SAM offers an optional Chrome extension, SAM Fantasy: ESPN Link, that connects your ESPN fantasy league to SAM and keeps it connected.

What it collects. After you pair the extension with a one-time code from your SAM Connections page, it reads two ESPN sign-in cookies from espn.com, SWID and espn_s2, and sends them to SAM over an encrypted HTTPS connection. These are sign-in values ESPN already stores in your browser. The extension never reads your ESPN or Disney password, your browsing history, the pages you visit, or any other cookie.

What it stores. On your device, the extension stores only a pairing token, a one-way hash of the last synced cookies, and the time of the last sync. On SAM's servers, your ESPN cookies are stored in encrypted form and used to read your league's rosters, matchups, and scoring.

How it is used. This information is used only to keep your ESPN league connected to SAM. It is sent only to SAM's own servers. We do not sell it, we do not share it with third parties, and we do not use it for advertising, creditworthiness, or lending.

Staying connected. To avoid making you re-link every few months, the extension refreshes these cookies in the background, roughly twice a day. You can disconnect at any time by choosing Unpair in the extension or by removing the extension from your browser.

The SAM app for iPhone reads the same two ESPN cookies after you sign in on ESPN's own page inside the app, and keeps them fresh the same way.

Account and product use (at and after launch)

We may collect:

• Account information such as email, display name, and authentication identifiers
• Mobile number and SMS consent records when you opt in during account signup or in settings
• League and roster data you choose to link from your fantasy platform (Sleeper and ESPN today, Yahoo next)
• Messages you send to SAM and messages SAM sends back, needed to provide the service
• Images you text to SAM (MMS), such as a screenshot of a trade offer or a lineup. We fetch the image from our messaging provider so our AI model provider can read it, and we keep the text of what SAM read with your messages. We do not keep the image, and we ask the messaging provider to delete its copy once it has been read.
• SAM keeps short notes and player lists when you tell him something to remember about how you play. You can see and delete them in Account.
• Technical logs such as IP address, browser type, and error data used for security and reliability

2. How we use information

We use the information above to:

• Create and secure your account and send sign-in codes
• Process payments and manage your plan
• Provide fantasy football assistance, alerts, and related product features
• Send SMS only when you have opted in, as described in our SMS Program
• Respond to support requests
• Review conversations with SAM, by our team and by AI tools working for us, to find and fix mistakes and improve SAM
• Maintain security, prevent abuse, and improve reliability
• Comply with law and enforce our Terms

3. SMS and mobile information

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties.

We use mobile numbers only to deliver the SAM text program you opted into, and to handle opt-out and support requests related to that program. Details are on the SMS Program page and in our Terms of Service.

Message frequency varies with your usage and your alert settings. On peak days, users with multiple leagues and all alerts enabled may receive 15 or more messages in a day. Message and data rates may apply.

If you text SAM an image, it is used only to answer that text, as described in Section 1. Do not text images that show payment cards, government IDs, or other sensitive personal information.

4. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

We may share information only in these limited cases:

• Service providers. Vendors who help us host the product (Vercel, Supabase), send email or SMS (Resend, Twilio), process payments (Stripe), check for bots (Cloudflare), run the AI models that read your messages and images, or provide infrastructure. They are bound to use data only for services they perform for us.
• Legal requirements. When required by law, valid legal process, or to protect rights, safety, and security.
• Business transfers. If DP Digital is involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, information may transfer under appropriate confidentiality.

5. Cookies and tracking

The public marketing site does not use tracking cookies or third-party advertising cookies. Signing in sets a cookie that keeps you signed in, and the bot check may set one of its own. We do not run a cookie consent banner because we do not set non-essential tracking cookies. We count site visits with Vercel Web Analytics and measure page speed with Vercel Speed Insights, and neither sets a cookie or stores personal data. Essential technical cookies may be used for authentication. Separately, if you connect an ESPN league, the optional SAM browser extension reads two ESPN sign-in cookies from your browser to keep that league linked. This is described above under SAM Fantasy: ESPN Link.

6. Data retention

Waitlist emails from before sign-up opened are kept until twelve months after launch, or until you ask us to delete them. Account, league, message, and SMS consent records are kept while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward for support, security, and legal obligations. Deleting your account removes your account, leagues and messages and ends any subscription; SMS consent records are kept, with your account id removed, as texting rules require. Our texting provider keeps a copy of each text for up to 90 days, then deletes it. Deleted data can remain in our providers' backups for a short time. If you started Pro's free week, your mobile number and your team in each linked league are kept after you delete your account, and so is a number banned for abuse, only so the free week stays one per person and bans stay in place. You can request deletion at support@samfantasy.com.

7. Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical measures to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure.

8. Children

SAM is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

9. Your choices

• Account: delete your account from Account; your subscription ends at that moment.
• SMS: reply STOP to cancel texts, or manage alerts in the product. Reply HELP for help.
• Conversations: clear your conversations with SAM at any time (More, then Clear our history). It deletes your messages to SAM and SAM's replies, on the web and by text.
• Account data: contact support@samfantasy.com for access or deletion requests.

10. Changes

We may update this policy. The effective date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the Service after updates means you accept the revised policy.
